  1. Charcoal based air fresheners if on a budget.  If not, rent a couple of air purifiers for a day or two.

  2. Febreeze works great for smoke scent. Get a couple bottles of it and just spray it everywhere in there

  3. If you don't have time to paint, and clean the carpet, sitting out buckets of charcoal overnight will help. The charcoal absorbs the odor pretty well. I've done this several times to remove the smell in our cabin after it has been closed up all winter.

  4. lots of boxes of arm and hammer baking soda

  5. Fresh air.

Odor neutralizer - Febreze makes one for air, I believe, though I buy something sold at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

If the hall specifies "no smoking" you need to adhere to their requirements.  These days most people go outdoors to smoke anyway.

  6. It will be tough to get rid of the smell 100%, but there are some things you can do to help.  If possible, take down the curtains, spray them with Febreeze, and let them tumble in the dryer (no or low heat) for a while.  This will help a lot because smoke tends to linger in heavy fabrics like curtains.  If it's not possible to remove the curtains, at least spray them with Fabreeze.  Also, if it's carpeted, sprinkle baking soda on the carpet and let it sit overnight.  Vacuum the next day.  Finally, you can always use scented candles on your tables.  Having lots of flowers in the room will help too.  Finally, get some circulation going in there.  Bring in large fans the day before and let them run with the windows open for a few hours.  Good luck!

  7. Smoke odor from YOUR guests....or smoke odor that's already there.

For one, the "special candles' they sell for ciggarette smoke smell are worthless.  Trust me, everybody in my family smokes and those don't make a bit of difference, same with the "smokeless ashtrays"

If the ciggarettes are from your guests you need to set up an area outside where they can smoke.  You can have a few soft lounges and mood lighting so they don't feel like second class citizens at the party but pretty much everywhere has policies against indoor smoking anyway because of health concerns.

If the smell is in the venue there isn't a whole lot you can do.  Most places won't let you steal away their curtains and table cloths and they obviously don't wash them properly or the smell wouldn't be such an issue.  If you can, clean the walls thoroughly the day before and during the wedding have as many Glade plug-ins as you can find.  If there aren't many plugs then try to hide some of the puffer ones in your flower arrangements.

  8. Use equal parts warm water and vinegar and place in bowls around the room.  Also put some in spray bottles and spritz the fabrics in the room such as carpets and curtains.  Let is sit at least 1 hour then air the room out.

  9. go to any tabocco shop most of them sell a candle that helps with the smoke, also like the answer above, replace curtins, table cloths, also wash the walls with bleach and  fabaloso(smells great) if you can open windows and spray some airfreshner.

also if you have access to the airvent or filter, place cups of poperrie so when the air turns on it smells great!!

    good luck!!

  10. The easiest way--rent another location.  You're not going to be able to fully remove the smoke odor.  You'd have to repaint, replace all soft surfaces, etc.  You can bring bottles of Febreze, but that may just make it worse--you'll have Febreze scented smoke....nasty!!

Seriously, if the smoke odor bothers you, find another location.  Tell the owners as well, because if it bothers you, it probably bothers other people too.

  11. fresh paint, replace any and all curtains, table clothes etc anything that's cloth...replace chairs wash everything down.

Realistically it'll be VERY difficult.  a lot of airing out my help and washing everything possible down...febreeze or something to.  Good luck that's a hard task to take on.

  12. Vanilla candles  !
