Question:

How can I get the standard deviation for casino games?

I need to know 2 things:

1) Standard deviation for win/loss chances of a game (all games - blackjack, roulette and all)

2) Standard deviation for win/loss amounts in currency (.e.g $145 win/loss)

Any sources online for this or does anyone have a simple formula? I'd also like to know the odds of winning/losing a game/bet without regards to the money involved. I mean, I know about the house edge, payback percentage and cost per hour. But I'd like to see the figures for winning versus losing.

Thanks a bunch!

  1. Sounds like a homework question...just plug the odds for each game in the standard deviation equation in your textbook!
