Question:

How can I get the trendline for a linear function in excel?

I have a 2-column table which I have to transfer to a line graph. The y axis took the numbers automatically, but I had to edit the x-axis so it would show the numbers I need (not 1,2,3,...). Now, I need the equation of the line. But, the trendline button is gray, it doesn't let me push it. I wanna know if editing the x-axis has something to do with this. When the x-axis was just 1,2,3,4... the trendline button was available, and now it wasn't. This is an example of my table:

x | y

0.3275 1.710

0.3052 1.600

Is there any way I can let Excel understand that I don't want 1,2,3 on my x-axis?!
