How can I get this OFF my computer?!?!?!?

This is driving me nuts. On every single page I view on the internet, I get some words that are in green and underlined and if I mouse over them - I get an advertisement. I am also getting a ton of pop-ups. Our computer 'crashed' yesterday and so we went out and got norton anti-virus but we are getting even more c**p than before we had it!! Ideas are very warmly welcomed. This is driving me nuts.

Dont reformat unless you really have to., get superantispyware free edition, download, update, and do an in depth scan in safe mode., it will find all the c**p that the others miss., its especially great at finding trojans., Good luck.

The best solution is to reinstall Windows.

well honestly if you can return norton and get NOD32 you can just go to www.eset.com they offer a suite with spyware and malware protection too which is what you need to get the ads off. NOD32 is the best around and is very light and won't slow your PC down like norton. Norton is better then nothing but it isn't very good.

a simple anti-virus program cannot erase a complex virus like this, in order to solve this, try reformatting your computer, i'm sure your computer has a virus which is a potential danger in your software, before it crashes your computer, you need to cute this fast! so bring your cpu in your nearest computer dealers and let them do the work :)

Do the following things..

download and install all high security patches from windows update.

Download the free antivirus software called avast

also another freebie called spybot ... and make sure to click immunize

also download spyware blaster

also set the pop up blcoker on internet explorer to high.

and make sure that you stay away from things like kazaa etc and peer to peer file sharing as many viruses come from there.
