  1. Take a train from Stoke on Trent to London Euston, then the Victoria line southbound to Victoria station. Then take a Southeastern train for Ramsgate and get off at Rochester (about 40 minutes); then go to the south-east bound bus stop outside the railway station (same side of the High St as the railway station, just past the junction of Furrell's Rd (turn right when you come to the junction of the station approach road and the High St). Take a 701 bus to Pentagon bus station, Chatham (about 5 minutes), then take a 796 bus for Grain, which arrives at the Rose & Crown, Allhallows after 48 minutes. You may well be able to get a through rail ticket from Stoke to Rochester, including the Underground fare.

On the other hand, if you still want to go to Strood, go to Rochester as above, then go to the northbound bus stops on Star Hill (turn right when you reach the High St, at the end of the High St is the A2 - Star Hill is on the left, and you'll need to cross the A2). Take the 141 bus which will get you to Strood Civic Centre in 4 minutes.

  2. Get to the London Terminal, is it Euston? Go to London Bridge on the Northern Line and the overground to Strood. Get a London travelcard with your ticket from Stoke. Or you can get a National Express to Victoria, then on to Strood, which will be way cheaper!
