How can I get to sleep easier?

I'm having some sleeping problems. If I go up to my room around 8:00 pm and just hang around, playing soft music, I get to sleep no problem! But there are times where I'll try going to sleep at 10 pm using my soft music and it doesn't work! I don't want to keep on using sleep meds for the rest of my life! Anyone care to help me?

  1. Exercise in the morning so that your body is physically tired at night.

    Don't eat within two hours of going to bed.

    Don't drink coffee after about 3pm, or, since you are struggling, 1pm.

    Eat healthy simple foods, digestion can easily cause the body to stay awake when you would prefer to sleep. Healthy food will help.

    Perhaps your concern that you aren't sleeping is keeping you awake with worrying?
