How can I get to sleep?!?!?!?!?

I'm dating this new guy I am CRRRRAAAZZZYYY about.

I like him sosososo much.

The problem is I go to sleep but keep waking up randomly thinking about him cause i want to see him so much the next day.

I can't sleep many hours at a time anymore

It's starting to affect my schoolwork cause i'm so f***ing tired!

please don't say break up with him, cause that's just not an option.

soo what do i do?

  1. This is going to sound funny but it works:

    1. Make sure you eat something with protein before you go to bed and keeps nuts next to your bed for when you can't sleep (your body needs protein every few hours and it can disrupt your sleep if you don't have enough)

    2. Write all your thoughts and feelings in a diary before you try to sleep, that might take things out of your head a bit and let you relax more

    3. When you're trying to fall asleep make sure you're breathing from your stomach and not from the top of your lungs, since you're excited you're likely breathing more shallow when you fall asleep which means that you're not sleeping as deeply and that means that you're waking up a lot easier

    All advice I was given from a certified naturopath and I've rarely had problems sleeping since.

Unfortunately, that's something we all go through,and there isn't really much you can do about it.  Seems like you're in the beginning phase of the relationship, so until you start seeing him more often and dating consistently, you'll start feeling more comforted that you have him as opposed to excited.  It's not real yet for you and you need affirmation I guess, only guessing what's to happen the next day.

  3. you'll be fine in less than a month... it will pass. in the meanwhile why don't u try taking power naps ?

  4. Spend some time before you go to bed trying to clear your mind. Yoga and/or meditation might work. Another thing to try is some intense physical activity during the day like running, swimming or a long workout at the gym. That way, your body will be tired enough to sleep through the night and you will have something other than your new boyfriend to focus on.

  7. Do you talk to him on a CELLPHONE before going to bed?  Cellphones increase your... d**n I forgot what the medical magazine said.  But cellphones used before bed can stimulate your brain to be more awake.

    It's like drinking a cup of coffee before bed.

  9. Not pills. Pills are not for everything that comes along. I think when you  wake up and think about him, just relax into it and maybe you will relax so much, you will drift away. If not, try counting backwards from 100 (over and over and over and over)  

  10. get a hold of yourself u cant let a man run ur life like that he will end up taken over ur life just like he is beginning to control ur sleep schedule and energy level even though he doesnt do it on purpose.

    Right now you are struck with the initial love bug type of wow I really love him wow he is really great wow I can't sleep because I want to picture his face. Believe me, with time you will get over that. Sure you will still care about him but at least sleep will come easier. Eventually you will also get so tired that he won't want to look at you because you will be like looking at a walking dead person girl so get some sleep. Yeah yeah easier said then done right? I know. So try to relax. Get in bed a while before you actually sleep and just relax. Listen to calming music. Think other thoughts. But no girl, don't break up just because you can't sleep...   18. dont be so obsessed with him, realize that his just a guy, and that your health is more important then anyone.

  19. Maybe try to do something else to occupy your mind before you go to sleep, when you wake up, whatever.. maybe a book or something? And trust me, I know the feeling too.. when you just wake up and cant get him outta your mind :) just tell yourself you'll see him in your dreams.. haha. that actually sounded sort of creepy
