How can I get videos from my camcorder to my computer?

I have a Panasonic PV- GS85. I have read the instruction manualy thouroughly and nothing seems to work. I have a USB connector. PLEASE HELP!!

You may need a Firewire cable instead of USB.  It all depends on the software your using to pull the media off the camera.

If it came with software, try using that.  If not, you may have to purchase something 3rd party.  If you're on a Mac, it may not work at all.

PV- GS85, a miniDV vcam, must be iLink / FIREWIRE400**-connected to pc to upload video thru video capture or video editing* software while vcam is ON PLAYBACK.  Note: DV or Firewire port of vcam is 4pin. Before cable purchase** (Vcam/4pin=>firewireCABLE=>PC (4/ 6pin?), check pc for DV or firewire port, whether 4 or 6 pin. If none, install firewire card: pci for pc or pcmcia / express card for laptop.
