How can I get welfare?

Im a nursing student and would like to sign up for welfare particularly for groceries.

Go to your local Department of Human Services office and ask to see if you qualify for food stamps.  They will have income guidelines you need to meet.

it usually depends on how much your income is. but if you single and going to school just go to the nearest welfare office and apply. most likely you'll get it. if you have a high income, than you won't get that much. But something is better than nothing. i would estimate you get probably around 150 or so.

Welfare is usually for families that are composed of one parent and their dependent children. There may be some programs for adults with no dependents, but those services are limited.

As an adult with nobody to care for but yourself, you may not be eligible for much. Go to your local office and fill out the application.

You cant get welfare, but you can get food stamps.

Have you applied for financial aid?  The only other thing I can suggest for money is unemployment or loans.

Or you can call 2-1-1 for community resources such as food.
