How can I go about looking for long lost relatives?

I'm Palauan-American. My father nd mother were born in Palau. If you know the story, Palau was one of the islands that was involved in World War II. It was ruled by the Japanese and was inhabited by them. But when the war came, the Japanese were forced to be sent back to Japan. Now my grandmother (my dad's mother) was half Japanese. Her father was full Japanese, but like I said was forced to be sent back. But my grandmother didn't go with him and stayed in Palau. Now I don't know if they kept any records of the Japanese people in Palau or who was sent back to Japan, but I'm really interested on finding my Japanese relatives. My dad believes he might of remarried and had children or he could of died during the Hiroshima attack. It's all a mystery and as I grow older, I want to start looking for them. Is there anyway I can go about this or get a start on it right now? I've been doing research but nothing has comed up and I'm really eager to start searching. Would you please give an idea?

  1. Do you know everyones names? If not order birth certificates. I actually found some of mine by posting there names on here. They actually got back to me too. The internet is a big mind.

    Ancestry.com-fill in family tree

  2. Hire a private investigator. If that seems like too much money talk to one, without hiring them tell them about your dilemma and they will be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck finding them!!!
