How can I go to King's Cross from Luton Airport?

We don't have too much luggage.. nor do we have too much money to spend on transportation.

Also, my husband and I will stay in London for one week. We will be walking mostly but will also use the tube. Is there a weekly pass for the tube? What would be the best option?

  1. The best way to get to Kings Cross from Luton Airport is to take a train,

When in London , you can buy weekly travel card for the tube and this includes buses as well. You can use oyster pre-pay and you will pay as you travel.  ÃƒÂ‚£1.50 in zone one-  at any time but you need to have oyster card that you can get from tube station or some newsagents

Oyster is London's travel smartcard. Add money to it so you can pay as you go  on the bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground, and some National Rail services.

  2. Ok i use this train line regularly!

You get a shuttle bus from luton airport to Luton Airport parkway (the train station). I think you have yo pay about £2 for this bus.

Then buy your train ticket from the station, and you can get a train to King's Cross from Luton.

And yes, i'd recommend getting a weekly tube pass, it will be much more hassle free.

  3. hi,

we are comming to Luton but we will arrive at aproxximatley 23:45  can you tell me if at that time we will find the train station still working are they 24/7 ? because we have to go to kings cross and there we will book a hotel and it is not that far eyy i hope no.. the agency told us that they hav the busses but we do not want to spend that much ..

    thankss :)

  4. Yeah when you get to Luton there's a connecting bus to Luton Airport Parkway railway station.  From there take a First Capital Connect train direct to Kings Cross / St Pancras.  They depart every 15 mins and cost about £11.

While in London your best bet is probably a weekly travelpass on an Oyster Card.  They cost £25.20 for a week and give you unlimited travel on the Tube in zones 1 and 2, and all London buses.

Hope you enjoy your trip :-)

  5. Yes the airport has a train station with a train that goes to Kings Cross, its about a 25 min ride.

To get from the airport to its train station there is a shuttle bus service.

Choose Luton Airport Parkway from the below link:

    http://www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk/Mai...

The staff at the station will direct you to which train to board.

In London you should get an Oyster Card (travel pass) from any underground train station or newsagent vendor. The Oyster card allows daily, weekly or monthly travel at reduced rates.

If you prefer to buy one off tickets everytime you need to use transport in london then you will level the city with no money!!

A weekly Oster Card for bus travel is about £12

for tube (underground train) and bus is about £45 a week for all zones.

Zones can be found on this link:

http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/S... Most tourists do not need more than zone 1,2 and 3 everything else is pretty much residential areas. The less zones you need, the cheaper it will cost, however zone 1 and 2 (central london) are expensive regardless.

If you want to save money and enjoy the sights of london i advise a weekly bus pass.

Note: Your train ticket from Luton Airport to Kings Cross is not included in the Oyster scheme.

  6. Get an oyster pass. You will be able to use it for a long time. Walking in London is fun, but there is so much to see you will defenitly need to plan bus and tube rotes. Avoid the cabs, even though cabbies are quite charming it gets ridiculously expensive. From the air port to kings cross, you might want to look into a shudel .
