I really want to go to college for shoe design in LA. I was going to go to FIDM but it is a private school and I heard I would have to pay there. Where else can I go? How can I go for free?

  1. Gain scholarships.  You can also use loans but you will have to pay them back after you're through withy college.

  2. are you ******* serious?

    this isn't elementary school hun.

you have to pay for college no matter where you go.

  3. If you have a disability your state vocational and educational department may pay for it. In NY it is VESID and they pay for school if you have an attainable career once you graduate from college.

  4. marry a rich man

  5. You can go to Harvard for free....no charge.........the school is so wealthy now that they don't charge tuition. But I don't think you could study shoe design there.

  6. Have you try to get a scholarship? If you can get it then you don't need to pay it back to anyone. Maybe you can try to go to

    http://all-about-scholarship.com

    it's about scholarships information.

    Good luck

  7. if you are ANY percent indian (cherokkee i think)  then you can go to college in Kansas for free. thats what i was told.

  8. Truly the only way you can go to school for free if you're

    1. EXTREMELY POOR

    2. EXTREMELY GOOD

Sorry. It's not that easy to go to school free. If you're somewhere in the middle maybe you should just look into scholarships. If not talk to the school themselves, maybe they can help you more.

    Good luck.

  9. Hi!

Well I will say that going to college for free is pretty tough, I had to take out loans myself just to pay for college but I will say this: Going to college is worth every cent and your education deserves nothing less.

If you're interested in attending FIDM, the advisors are great in helping students find information on scholarships, loans and even grants. There are even work study programs through FIDM's career center that not only help you earn extra money but you get that awesome experience in your field that goes straight to your resume!

I will say that if you want something bad enough, you will have to work for it. If you wind up going to college for free, that's great but if not, just remember it's worth working for.

To get in touch with an advisor at FIDM, go to their web site at: www.fidm.edu.

    Hope this helps :)

  10. Good luck...

  11. well not for free but there r cheap colleges out there or redo high school and get a scholarship dur!!!!! r u nuts???

  12. The easiest way is to apply for some sort of state-funded scholarship based on your high academic ranking/grades.  Check out the California Scholastic Federation:

    http://www.csf-cjsf.org/CSFHome.asp.

You can acquire a grant all the way up to a Masters degree as along as you can maintain at least a B average grade in your major course of study.

Another way is to have a parent who is currently an employee at a major university for at least ten years.  After ten years, the parent is granted a whole series of freebie tuition assistance options whereby all his children and spouse can attend the university for free assuming that they have the initial grades to fulfill the entrance requirements.  Currently, the University of Southern California offers this program to its employees [but net necessarily employees of the university hospital].

There's the GI Education Bill which comes with serving your country in the military.  It works out to be for every 2 years of service, you will be granted an education allowance of up to $10,000 per year which can be used towards higher education tuition.

And finally, you have probably already realized that the tuition at trade schools [L.A. Trade Tech], community colleges (LACC) and state universities (Cal. State) are quite affordable and you do not need any loan program for assistance.

    Good luck!

  13. Win enough scholarship awards and you may go through college for free.

Applying for scholarships takes time and effort so it's not a walk in the park. But it won't lose anything by applying.

Here's a site that could help you:

    http://instantscholarshipsearch.com

The easier way is to have a 4.0 GPA and graduate as the valedictorian of your High School. You may win a full-scholarship that covers your whole college tuition. As you can see, it's still not easy.

If you want something badly, you really need to work for it in one way or another. That is the reality of life.
