How can I go to more townhall/community meetings in Brooklyn?

I'm not sure where I can find out about open community meetings, town meetings, city hall meetings, etc. that are open to the public. I looked on my representative's page and found nothing. Any other ideas? It seems like it should be so easy, but I don't know where to look.
