I was watching Into the Blue earlier today with Paul Walker and Jessica Alba, my god SO GORGEOUS!! anyways, I really like the scene where he's hiding from Bates at the bottom of the ocean. So my question is how can one do this, I know its possible because i've seen people do it. I have a 10' deep pool and I'm a pretty good swimmer, but just don't know how to sink and stay under water, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanx in advance.

  1. The less fat you have, the more you sink.

Also, if you exhale completely, that would help. Other than that I have no clue, because I find it impossible when I do it.

I would research it a bit, see what you can find.

    Good luck! K

  2. You can't do it for very long, at least I personally can't. The air in your lungs and body is what keeps you buoyant - what makes you float. So if you swim to the bottom and exhale, it's MUCH easier to stay down. However, this is kind of tricky because obviously you don't have air left.

  3. Adding a weight belt will allow you to stand on the bottom of the pool. but be very careful. Even if you are a good swimmer. You can run in to problems like getting the weight belt off so you can go up again. Jessica Alba and Paul Walker were probably wearing one under their suits if you didn't see one on them.

  4. tie rocks to your ankles

  5. if you try it without anything it is virtually impossible but if u get some kind of weigh (ex. rocks to ankles) it is possible but those films are computer made and did u knw u can breath under water like in pirates of the careabien by putting a bucket over your head and it will work!!!

  6. I swim a lot too and what i figured out is that if you let all the air out of your lungs you sink. The air in your lungs is what makes  you float back up. But then obviously you cant stay underwater that long.

  7. swim to the bottom and blow out some of your air. its the air in your lungs that make you float up.

this is kinda hard since you have to blow out about 1/3 or 1/2 of your air once you swim to the bottom and then swim back up. dunno how long you want to stay in the bottom but wont be long unless you ahve good lungs.
