Ask a jeweler.  I don't think it can be done at home.  It's an electrolitical process done under intense heat.

well how u can gold plate ur silver ring is just take it to a jewellery shop and ask them how much it will coast and how long and if ur happy u might just go on with it

Is your ring sterling or fine silver?  If it is take it to jeweler and have it gold plated.  Then it will be vermeil-pronounced (Vehr-MAY)
