  1. If you like your style and it works with the other musicians you play with, it's all good!  Keep listening to great music, and your style will be influenced by what you hear.  Play on!!!

  2. play some blues...or even punk

  3. get a 50 note streak going :)

  4. Check out Les Claypool, Mike Gordon (Phish). Two of my favorites! Try taking more lessons.

  5. there are more than 2 kinds of music.

i like country and western too but you need to learn to play blues and soul if you want to groove.

  6. Try looking up some of the chords/tab for bass by Cream or Hendrix and compare their songs together. They're might be a pattern, which you could catch onto perhaps or learn from them by look at how this fret and this fret are usually played back to back and sound really well or whatever. Basically, just analyze the music, or put in a CD and turn the bass all the way up and the treble all the way down.

Practice more and maybe make up your own songs if already don't and just try to put a tune to it to make your own groove. Fifty years down the road, who knows - some kid might be wanting to use your groove/style for his own use. (; G'luck.

  7. watch Pete Wentz

    ;)

he is a bassit and hott.

    just watch him.

  8. The only way to groove is with the drummer. If he has a good groove, then you are set.

Go on youTube and check out the bassist their.

  9. Practice, practice, practice.   Just kidding, I find it helpful to play along with the bands.  So, maybe, crank some Cream and Hendrix...find the key of the song...and try to follow along.

If this doesn't work, hone or perfect your own style.  Unless you are a professional musician, it is just for fun anyway.

    Good luck.

  10. seek out a gal named mary-jane.

  11. Get some DVD's with various styles and practice songs with what you like.  Larry Graham provided the thump, Don Waas has a rock theme and Marcus Miller plays everything.  Get some of their work and study it.
