Question:

How can I grow vegetables and herbs in the city?

I live in the city and don't have a garden of my own, but I do have access to a shared garden (it would not be possible to do any digging or planting there). I recently heard about grow bags and am quite interested in this. How difficult is it and would it be possible to grow something small like a tomato plant or spinach inside during the winter (I live in Scandinavia), now that summer is soon over. Any tips and sharing of experiences is welcome - I realize that this project might have to wait until next spring, but I've long dreamed of growing my own stuff, so I would like to know more about it.Thanks!

  1. It would be pretty difficult to grow a tomato plant inside during the winter because they would become dormant.  If you have any  place to hang either a bagged plan or hanging basket in the summer it will have no problem growing then.

  2. Grow bags are great,  They are really  good for tomatoes, especially the small ones.  I dont see why you cant grow peppers or small pickeling cucumbers.  You can also plant veggies in pots of good soil.  I have had alot of success growing this way
