I breast feed my daughter every hour to an hour and a half, I decided I would like to make her homemade baby food in which I would need some extra breast milk for but it seems like once I get some, my daughter is hungry again and don't have any left to pump, any tips on how i can continue breast feeding my daughter and have enough milk to make her baby food?

  1. What I do, only when I am full, if my daughter is asleep or can wait a little while, I pump first, I do it until nothing comes out or until it is just a little. And then I feed her. She still gets just as full, once in a while it takes a little longer, but let the pump take out the easy stuff. The baby is a lot better at extracting the milk then the pump. This is also good because then she is getting the fatty milk, rather then what is right there waiting. Also you will notice the amount milk you have increase even if you only do this once a day, the morning has always worked best for me, but you will find what time works best for you and your daughter. =) good luck.

  2. Pump the side she isn't nursing on while she nurses on the other, many moms find this the most effective for occasional pumping.  Also remember even if you can't pump another drop there is still plenty of milk left for baby, so don't wait to nurse or use up the pumped milk.

  3. Your b*****s should be the fullest in the morning.  Pump immediately after your baby nurses, you may not get much each time, but if you do this for the first few nursing sessions everyday you should have enough.  And your supply will most likely adjust, it works on demand, so the more milk you remove from your breast, the more your body will produce.  Good luck to you :)
