How can I have my history of web searches deleted automatically when I close out my Internet explorer?

I'm trying to figure out if my history form web pages I've visited can be auto deleted upon exiteing internet explorer, and if so can I retrieve it once it's been deleted?

  1. You can click on Tools and then Internet Options. Under General click Clear History and you can change the number of days to keep history. You can also set it to clear automatically when you sign out.

    You might also want to disable Auto Complete which saves your search history in the search bar. You click on Tools and then Internet Options. Under Content choose Auto Complete. You can Clear Passwords and Forms or you can disable this all together so it will no longer save things like this.

    If you change your History to clear automatically or disable Auto Complete you can't retrieve this once you log back on your computer. You would have to enable everything again before you would be able to do this.


  2. you can set 'days to keep pages in history' under tools > internet settings to zero.
