  1. wen  hammy gets cut put him in anothr cage so it wnt get hurt even worst.and if like sumhow the cut got infected r caused the hammy 2 get a  disease the othr ones cudnt get it.good luck!

  2. As soon as you notice a cut, take your hamster to the vet!!! Hamsters are so small that something as simple (to us anyways) as a common cold could kill them. Any cut, no matter how small, is very dangerous to the hamster if infected. Take the little guy to the vet before it's to late!

  3. I have a colony of dwarf hamsters too in one cage and similar thing also happens to my hamsters. Normally when they playfight they can get slightly bruised, as long as there is no swelling and the injury does not affect the normal behavior of the hamster (he still eats heartily, poops properly and actively plays), then don't bother, the hamster will heal itself.

If the wound is significant and bleeding badly, I wash the wound with lukewarm water mixed with few drops of an antiseptic liquid, dry it thoroughly and put an antiseptic cream which I got at a pet shop.

However, if you find any serious injury, it is better to take the hamster to a vet for treatment becoz we doing it at home might not be as effective as a vet's professional touch.

This link might be of use to you, it tells you all about what to stock in a hamster's first aid kit and how to treat in case of emergencies. Hope you find the same useful.

  4. I have two dwarf hamsters in a huge cage aswell. When i'm older i am hoping to breed them.

My first ever pair of hamsters kept on getting bleeding noses. I didn't know what was wrong with them so i took them to the vet.

My best advice is to take your hamster to the vet and they will give you a cream or a little vaccination. It didn't cost me much at all.

If your vet gives you a cream you would know what to get in the futer.

Good luck with the little ones.

  5. EVER HEARD OF A VET?  AKA ANIMAL DOCTOR?

HEALING THEM URSELF W/NO EXPERIENCES WILL FURTHUR THEIR PAIN AND MORE DISEASE.

**IF THEY FIGHT SEPERATE THEM BECAUSE IT MIGHT LEAD TO DEATH.
