How can I heal my sore legs? I just started cross country. ?

Help!! I've never ran properly until two days ago, I've started cross country and its intense. Im so out of shape, I cant control my breathing. Also, my feet and legs.. they hurt so much!!! I feel like someone beat my legs up they hurt so much. How can I get in shape? I have practice again tomorrow and im dreading it. Everyone else on the team are amazing

  1. You are using muscles that have never been used before and they will hurt for a few days but the more you exercise they less they will hurt.Try to google lactic acid.


  2. Ok You need more protein and more potassium in your diet to help with muscle cramps (bananas arent the only thing that contain potassium). Also the more you work out the less pain you will feel...by the end of this week you will be in great shape and feel less and less soar...just try pushing yourself through the pain and you will become stronger week to week :) Make sure you are hydrated b4 practice (drinking lots of water through out the day) gaterade is good during workouts but not b4 hand...so stick to drinking lots of water and no more soda (if you do drink it) GOODLUCK :)

  3. I have a Scholl Shiatsu masssager and it helps soothe my muscles.

  4. Eating more protein may help out with the muscle soreness, but it eventually comes down to sticking with it. Everything usually starts out rocky but it'll smooth out once you get used to it. Stay Positive. And remember everybody was once a beginner.
