How can I heat my rubbermade tub?

I have a 116 qt. rubbermade tub for my hermit crabs. I was just wondering if a 40 watt bulb would melt through the plastic or start a fire? i have to heat up the tub for my hermit crabs!! would a Under tank heater melt the tub? PLEASE HELP!!!
