How can I help Accutane heal me?

I have been on Accutane for 23 days exactly. My skin hasn't really showed too much signs of healing or initial breakout..

Now I am starting to see some zits pop up.

What can I do to help Accutane do it's Job better? Are there foods I should stick to eating regularly? Or any topical medication I can use to heal the surfacing zits?

  1. that's a question for your doc because anything topical might cause a

reaction and everybody's skin reacts differently.

    what's your water intake like?

just eat a healthy diet and exercise that should help;quit fast food and

learn how to cook for yourself sometimes:salads are awesome for skin

  2. Acutane is suppose to make your skin worse before it makes it better...that is just how it works give it more time!

  3. I took Accutane 8 years ago and it was an awful experience.  The first time I only lasted about halfway through the program and I experienced terrible side effects.  My skin was so dry, I couldn't wear contact lenses and I had awful rashes on my arms and legs.  Then I tried it again a few months later and had a better experience.  My acne did clear up, but to be honest, after the program I was breaking out again within 6 months.  I found it best to avoid touching my face.  I wouldn't recommend using another topical cream because your skin is going to be so sensitive already.  I think it will have to get worse before it gets better, at least that was the case for me.  It's not an overnight transformation.  I hope this helps!

  4. Accutane is bad for you and doesn't work.

At least it didn't work for me

    Try this instead

    It works great

    Good luck

  5. I felt the same way! I finished a 6 month course of Accutane about 3 months ago. Everyone said "it will get worse before it gets better." I wouldn't say I got worse... it just took a long time for things to clear up. I continued to get acne into the beginning of my 5th month.

It was very frustrating because it is not an easy medication to be on and the side-effects are not fun. I know you will hear it from everyone but, you need to be patient. My dermo reminded me of the frequently.

I wouldn't recommend using an additional topical... your skin will become extremely dry. Just buy a good moisturizer (I used one made by Purpose) and Aquaphor (for your lips... its worth the purchase)

    GOOD LUCK!

  6. PATIENCE!  Drink lots of water, eat lots of veggies and fruits, stay away from Soda's and alcohol.  I would not suggest using a topical because your skin is going to be so sensitive already. If you are picker you need to stop that as well.  I noticed that if I did pick my face I would make the zit look even worse and you don't heal like you normally would if you were not on the medication.  I am in my 5th month now and my skin has seen better days, so really you could clear up then get worse or vice versa.
