I am having trouble with a person who has to take the TOEFL. He has got some problems in the writing section (specially organizing ideas). I have tried to guide him by making him write essays step by step, but he keeps making the same mistakes! (he writes somehow well when I am monitoring, but when he writes on his own, it is like going back to the beginning). What shall I do? We have a month until his exam date. Any ideas are welcome!!!!

  1. hey this article should help. It deals with the SAT essay but it talks a lot about ways to organize ideas and get them to flow!

  2. Rule:

You must write "topic sentences" (given in the question) then you have to support it to make a paragraph with "secondary" or "supporting ones" (examples, your own ideas, experiences, stuff mentioned in a lecture or given writing, ect).

Of course, DO NOT FORGET grammar and vocabulary.

That is the real trick of writing an essay in  iBT TOEFL.

I got 24/30 in iBT TOEFL.
