  1. One thing that can  help is to try and make his lessons fun.  If you help him with his work at home, try to make it a relaxed time for the both of you.  Find learning games to play that keep his interest up.  Make study time pleasant with a snack and rewards for work well done.  Give hugs for right answers.  The more positive the attitude, the easier it will be to get him to work hard.  Your patience will be rewarded!

  2. get him a tutor.

  3. Become a grest child advocate

  4. In our state, Indiana, the public schools have programs available that will give him extra time for homework, help if needed with it, and extra time in class to take exams and quizzes.  Be careful if they alter the curriculum as this will hinder his ability to get a diploma.  Talk with the local schools now to get an idea of what they have available and what they can do to help, if anything.
