  1. Make sure you marry him inside the USA and not in Argentina.  I know it sounds totally obvious, but I have a friend whose fiancee insisted on a Mexican wedding with her family and it took them two years to get her residency.  It would have taken only six months if they had married here.

  2. if you marry him that would help with citizen ship.

  3. Its HARD! to get a greencard with this war on terrorism. Now what u need to do is have him fly in go to the main district building for alienation and get him a temp. green card. Then he can come for short times, untill he has had time to study for the US CITIZEN TEST. Problem is there are 100? questions and they only ask 5. The people who ask can choose any 5. And ALMOST all americans dont no most of the answers. So itll be hard for your lover. But if he studies hard and u put the time into it. Then you will be fine.

  4. You would basically have to marry him.  And you'd be better off marrying him IN Argentina and filing the paperwork at the Embassy in Bs As. (I'm not sure where the others are getting their info, but everyone I know and everything I've read, says DON'T get married in the USA... probably different with Mexico, since they have so many immigrants, but the US embassy here is easy to work with and fast).  Then the paperwork shouldn't take more than 6 months to get finished and get his visa for the USA.  If you marry in the USA they can accuse you of having done it just to get citizenship. Also, he shouldn't go to the USA as a tourist in between the time you file the paperwork and the time you get the visa, that can cause problems too.

I'm in the same situation, unfortunately the USA doesn't recognize my relationship (same s*x) so I've moved to Argentina permanently.  Chau USA.

  5. K1 visa, marriage in the US is the fastest route. It will take between 6 months and 1 year.
