She has been in and out. It seems like she is backing out of our relationship because she knows she can't control herself. She turns from a sweet angel to a mean, hurting person. Ups and downs. uncontrollable compulsiveness, She says she has it when she's in her nice mode, and denies it when she's hateful. She is more this way with me it seems. She just don't see it all. She tells me she loves me when she's ok, but then hates me, despises me in a matter of 2 days.... No matter what I do. How do I convince her to get help? How can I help?

  1. You can't help. BPD people are the most selfish people. They are emotional roller coasters, manipulative people and tend to externalize guilt, which means, it is always going to be your fault and never hers. They lie by nature and behave like Dr Jeckil and Mr. Hyde. She will put you down until you have no more self-esteem left. If you want that for you, it is just  because you are a very masochistic person. MY opinion? RUN before is too late. "Mark my words".

    Good Luck-you will need it.

  2. Get her on a good day to agree to go WITH you. To a psychologist, make the appointment and make her keep her word. To start going she will need major support. (at least i did) A pill is not going to fix it all... it will probably prove to be a very expensive road... but if you are going to help her, be ready to get a thick skin for at least a while.

You might want to read some of what the wiki has on the treatment and stuff...

Lost J has apparently been hurt by someone with BPD so don't take her cynical view too strongly.
