How can I help my friend raise money?

My friend works counseling teens in crisis. I know of several teens she has worked with that have problems ranging from anorexia to thoughts of suicide. She has been very successful often continuing her work with teens for several years. She wants to attend a "Facilitator Empowerment Program" to advance her skills. She never charges to help these teens and I want to find a way to help her pay for this training. I called the school which is located in California and the three part course is $6700. She would also need flight and motel. Any suggestions how she could raise this much money? If she had been charging for her counseling, she would have more money, but you can tell, the reason she doesn't charge is because she loves what she is doing and is making a difference in many lives. They do not have financial aid. Any suggestions??

Maybe if you could get a local newspaper to run an article about what your friend does and get testimonials from the people she has helped, you could raise awareness and get people to pool money together.  A community is capable of getting together and helping out someone who deserves help.

Have a benefit show, car wash, or bake sale.

Make this program more well known and maybe people will be willing to donate money to it.

By the way, it's great that your friend is doing this and amazing that you're trying to help her.

Perhaps she needs to look into these differant places that would benefit from her receiving this type of training and look to see if they have sponsorship programs.

people here said a bunch of ways to make money but wheres the proof they got paid.. see people make money when you make money.. everyone will end up being someones referral! You may not understand that just yet but I will explain later if you want to email me. I will show you a picture I took this morning of my check that came Saturday. Have a bake sale. Or some sort of party with a door fee.
