Her and her boyfriend moved to ATL together from Cincy. They broke up and he agreed to stay in ATL to help but after about 6 months moved back to cincy. My sister is in ATL all alone with a 2 1/2 year old. I want to come and help her for a while but it is not too practical for me to do that. I have a family in PA. What options does a single mom have? I know it is too much for her to do all the work alone! Especially since she does not have a large enough support network down there. Would it be wrong of her to seek volunteer's from a church to help with preparing meals or picking up her daughter from daycare a couple of nights a week? I know there have to be other mothers in this situation. Ideas please?

  1. how about she moves with you and you help her out until she can get back on her feet

  2. I am not a mother but i think that its very important for you to encourage her to get out of this situation herself. I know it sounds harsh but sometimes people start depending on others once they start helping. Empower her and don't save her. Remember she chose to have her child. Encourage her to write out some plan of action that will get her out of this situation.
