Question:

How can I help my wife?

We have two dogs, but our Chihuahua was run over by a car yesterday. She did not suffer, it must have been very quick. She probably didn't even know what happened, she probably thought she was in control until the very end. I am glad she didn't suffer.

I did not like seeing her like that, having to pick her up and bury her. I did not want my wife to see her like that. I will not describe to anyone how she looked, no one needs to know. Especially my wife.

I just want to know how to help her over this. Shes been sad for the past day, but just doesn't want to talk or anything.

I don't want to be an annoyance, but also want to help her through.

  1. just comfort her in her time of need.

Try to do a little house work perhaps.

Maybe make copies of pictures you have of her and make a collage or something along those lines.

    Sorry for your loss.xoxo

  2. It might have broke a bone or something.

  3. I am sorry for your loss.  Your wife will need to grieve and you need to let her know that you are there for her.

  4. I understand your wifes feelings.  My sweet natured beautiful Norfolk terrier was killed by 2 other dogs recently (3 months ago) and it is devastating!!!  Especially when it is such a horrible sudden occurance.  Nothing will make it better except time and alot of compassion.  I still cry almost everyday, only now it is shorter and less painful.  The first 2 weeks were unbelievable.  The grief consumed me.  Dinner did not get cooked, laundry wasn't done..everything stopped.  Another puppy sometimes helps by distracting you. Focusing on the living instead of the ones passed on.  However this will not replace the feelings nor will it make it any easier. All I can say is I AM SO SORRY, and I cry with you.

  5. I don't think you can do much.. Losing your pet is extremely hard, especially when it's little love baby like chihuahua.

Give it time or buy her new puppy.

Seeing those little faces always helps..nothing will ever replace your lost one, but getting a new one is healing remedy.
