Question:

How can I help myself remember to take my medication?

I have to take several medications every night, and although it's only once a day and you'd think it would be fairly easy to remember- for me I usually forget at least once a week.

With the medications I'm on I need to take them every single day, and I just don't know how I can better help myself remember to take them. Does anyone have some suggestions or ideas?

  1. Set an alarm on your cell.

  2. HAVE YOUR MEDICINE NEXT TO YOUR BED SO THEY WILL BE IN SIGHT MAYBE BLOCKING THE VIEW OF ALARM CLOCK. ALSOTRY SETTING DAILY ALARM ON YOUR CELL PHONE- I USE MINE TO CLOCK IN AT WK ON TIME.

  3. i have the same problem, i gotta take 3 pills every night and am not suppose to miss any days... what i do is just take them with dinner, but i leave the bottles set out on the table all day, so when i sit down to eat they r right there...

another thing u could try is to set an alarm on ur cell phone

  4. Tape them to the looking glass in the bathroom, then you,ll remember lol.

  5. Put the medications next to your toothbrush, or someplace that you'll be forced to see it every night. Keep a note on your pillow so that you have to pick it up and read it before you go to bed. Start a routine of taking you meds right after dinner.

  6. leave a stick note on your forehead telling you to.

put sticky notes in your mirrors,

    your steering wheel

    your door

or wherever you use everyday the night before if you have to take it in the morning.

  7. If there is a Tv show you enjoy to watch every night train yourself to take them before or after your fave. show... just a suggestion... hope it helps

  8. It sounds like you need to set an alarm that you will have with you no matter what you're doing, such as on your cell phone.  Or you could put your meds in a pill keeper, the daily kind, and keep the pill keeper by the potty, your bedside, tv remote, on your pillow... somewhere that you definitely visit every night before you got to sleep.  If you aren't successful with any of that, then have a parent, spouse, friend, care giver, someone/anyone, help you remember.

  9. get one of those pill holders and fill it up.  Then set it next to you cell phone when you set on your night table and a bottle of water, or some other think that you do at night.  Use post it notes on your bathroom mirror, when you brush your teeth at night you will see it.  good luck

  10. you could put post-it notes everywhere

  11. If setting a routine doesn't help, buy an alarm clock or medication reminder. When it goes off, take your meds.
