How can I help out at the Humane Society?

I am 14 right now and u have 2 be 15 to volunteer at the humane society. I don't turn 15 tell next summer. I already participate in as many fundrasers and events posible. But I don't feel like I am doing enough. Please help.

Wait until next summer. Why are kids always rushing into everything? Enjoy your life, try to volunteer in another place. Waiting a year isn't gonna kill you. Be patient and if you want to, just call them up and ask them if you can do something right now. If they say no, tell them you'll willing to volunteer next summer and would like to be able to plan it in advance so you can have something to look forward to that will actually happen.

No matter what we all do, it will never be enough. That's human nature. Just be patient and wait for next year. Plan ahead. If they know your name from the fundraising and such, you'll have that to go on. You're only 14, there are people 3 times your age who feel they don't do enough even if they've done plenty. You have done more than other kids your age and you should be proud of yourself for that. Like I said, be patient. Everything will fall into place soon.

I just want to say that it is awesome that you have such a great attitude about service :)  Im a public health social worker, and although it is very difficult at times it is very important to have a desire to help others whenever you can.  Our culture needs more attitudes like this!  You are very young to do many things, but I would suggest looking at things like volunteermatch.org or your local unitedway website to find places that interest you and you can contact them to see if there is anything you can do for them.

Get your friends and clean up a riverbed or a stretch of road.  Call a newspaper reporter to tell her what you are doing.  If she writes an article , lots of people will call you to get your help.  It may not be with animals but your community needs you. /
