I'm only 13 so I have to keep up with school and stay with my family- still live the normal teenage life, but it horrifies me what they do to animals. I really want to help but I don't know how!

Is there a committe you can join or something?

  1. im 15 and i agree that i hate what they do to animals too. Im sure you watch"animal precint". the show where the animal police officers save the animals and arrest the owners. I'd say become an animal officer or send donations to them.(the MSPCA)

  2. Well first of all that is a very good thing that you are willing to help animals.

Second you can help them yourself by taking the needy one's to the animal shelter with the help of your family.

Thirdly - don't use animal products like shawls, ash tray, paint brushes, leather products etc. which have been obtained from endangered animals.

Fourthly - Don't visit circuses which have animals in them. No matter what they say, animals are beaten up & kept hungry so that they can be trained.

Fifthly inform the police or your local SPCA about any illegal activity involving animals.

Sixthly - Don't buy pets especially exotic one's as these too have faced cruelty before reaching you.

Seventhly - Turn vegetarian. Most animals that people eat involve cruelty in one form or the other.

Eight- Join sites like these -

    http://www.greenpeace.org/international/

    http://www.peta.org/

These sites require individuals like you who have passion for animals. You can do a lot from there.

And also spread the word as far as possible.

Get involved in their campaigns and use their services like sending email greetings which will help them in an indirect manner.

  3. Join your local ASPCA

    http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer

Great organization! You can help by volunteering at the shelter or by donating money (which I know you may not have due to being so young).

One more way - - - here in Houston, our local SPCA has a card for Kroger (grocery chain), and every time you shop there, you have the cashier scan the card. Every time the card is scanned, a percentage of the sale is donated to the SPCA. It really helps out A LOT!!!!!

  4. Laura, the term cruelty means different things to different people.  What you view as cruel is different from I see as cruel.  Animal cruelty is not wide spread and not a severe problem.

One of the things you can do is be sure your friends and neighbors don't let the pets run free.  Domestic animals kill and injure thousand on small animals ever year.  And the domestic animal on the loose maybe subject to harm itself.
