Question:

How can I hem a pair of dress pants so that the bottoms don't just look folded up?

I have been able to hem them fine with a needle and thread but they have that look as though the bottoms were just folded up. How can I make the bottoms look exactly like they were before I hemmed them?

P.S. Please don't say bring them to a tailor--I have done that for years and it's getting too costly.

Thanks for any help you can offer! :-)

  1. Very simple solution, lay a damp cloth over the hem and press with an iron. If the pants have a crease, fold at crease line before ironing.
