Question:

How can I hem my pleated school skirt?

The skirts I have to wear to school are unnecessarily long, but whenever I try to hem them up a bit, the pleats get messed up and the skirt looks all puffed out and strange. All I have been doing is folding the bottom edge inward and sewing it there by hand. Should I try cutting the skirt instead?

  1. ok. i do this alot since i go to private. pin your skirt evenly and keep it there. put it on an ironing board and iron the bottom hem flat.

once your done sew it all around.

  2. take it to the tailor.

  3. Idk, my mom does mine on sowing machine, DON"T cut it it won't cut out even and there will be fringy stuff, if u r having a lot of trouble, go to a tailor.

  4. Do you pin it place before seweing?

Always do that or else the fabric will keep moving and the end product will be messed up
