Is there like a really bumpy texturized wallpaper I can put over it and paint that?

  1. Check out the 'Flex Rock' product available at home hardware.  I'm not sure if you can actually apply it to wallpaper, however you could probably do a quick so-so job of removing the wallpaper, because this stuff covers very well.

I've used it, and its great.

  2. Put 3/8 sheetrock over the wallpaper I did and place looks great Good Luck

  3. A skim coat of drywall compound could work here. If you are near a better drywall store it is called topping compound. The compound has less glues in it than regular drywall compound but you can use the regular stuff also.Just apply a thin enough coating with a longer trowel to even out the bumps and lightly sand. If you have ever finished drywall it should be no problem and relatively inexpensive. Obviously there should be no loose wallpaper or void areas for this method to work well. If you have wallpaper that is loose just tear off any that can be removed to get a reasonable base.
