I want to be a better actress and I'm not sure how to start. I've been getting into more reading about becoming a better actress on stage and at auditions, but I wonder if there are local school like the books say there are that I can attend as well. I live in California and I'm hoping to learn enough before school starts again, because I'm also drama club president this year. I've had experience on stage in both school drama productions as well as community theater. Any ideas and thoughts would be greatly appresiated! Thank you very much! ^^

  1. practice practice practice and maybe an acting coach

  2. Watch performances on TV that are really good performances.  Like the show 7th Heaven.

    Pbbhhhttt.

  3. start with classes at school then do plays at shcool build up your resume get experience! then get an agent and if you want to be succesful it will take years of hard work slowly climbing the ladder of success but if you get a chance to do somethign big go for it!

for agents and all the info you need go to actinginfo.blogspot.com and talentagents.blogspot.com for the agent one click table of contents then click city nearest you. read everything on the site

answers wont pop up infront of you so look around and click on the words in blue but not the ones that are double underlined!

  4. Work on your reactions and especially your listening skills.

Far too many actors don't really listen to others in a scene -- they're just primed to say their next line.  Remember, unless your character is suddenly initiating a plot twist, acting is all about REacting to what gets said and things that occur.  It's just like in real life, since we never know that someone else is going to say.

The true finesse of acting is plotting out precisely how you will react to EVERYTHING that occurs in all your scenes -- from the timing of your reaction, to the level of intensity, to how much you show the audience that your character is thinking about what to do or say.
