How can I / how long would it take to lose 20 lbs?

I'm a gymnast, and i'm waaaaaaay too fat. I'm 5'5" & I weigh about 131 lbs. Ideally, I want to weigh 110.

how can i lose weight? i don't have a specific time limit to lose this weight, but i would like to lose it before christmas!

  1. i have not eaten sugar for a few months and i have gotten ALOT skinnier so dont eat sugar and cut down on carbs


  2. 5'5 and 131 ...doesnt seem like you need to lose 20lbs.  You should figure your bmi and work on losing any extra body fat and build muscle and tone.  Try not to focus on the number.  You have plenty of time to be in shape before Christmas.  Eat right and lots of excerise (cardio, cardio, cardio).  Even if you shoot for a pound a week.  Your numbers will go down quick in the beginning due to water weight.  Just stay healthy and be happy with you no matter what that darn scale says.  Good luck.  

    I should practice what I preach, and work on losing before Christmas too im 5'4 132 and I feel like I need to lose 20lbs but people keep telling me I dont need too.  Im shooting for 125, maybe I'll be happy there.

    i completely cut any kind of sugar/junk food out of my diet, and lost about 10 pounds in..2 months?

    i've also been drinking about 6 bottles of water a day, and've been walking instead of driving as much as possible.

    i'm 5'4, and have gone down to 108-111 on average, from 130lbs
