  1. make sure not to come in late.. and stay back if needed.

always ask if they need any help with anything.and make sure you dont rush your work.. you want to get it done right the first time.

otherwise be yourself and do the work they hired you to do..

  2. 1.Pay attention and do your job.

2.Don't act like a know it all.

    3.Be a team player.

No one likes a brown noser - especially other associates who have been doing the job longer than you. No one likes to hear "well this is how we did it at my last job". Everyone has ideas on how things could work better but the first week of work isn't the time to bring that up. Just be yourself and learn everything you can without seeming over anxious. Good luck!

  3. Show up on time and dressed appropriately for the office where you will be.

Ask a lot of questions and take notes when you find out the answers so you don't have to keep repeating the same questions.

Make sure you proofread and double check your work before you give it to your boss to show you have good attention to detail.

Don't make any personal phone calls or send emails until you know what the culture of the office is - some bosses hate the use of cell phones during working hours, some don't care. Turn off the cell phone or leave it in your car.

Keep talk about your personal life to a minimum.  Let your boss get to know you professionally before you share with him details about your life (like the toilet overflowing, the kids and their fevers, etc.)

Good luck with your new job.

  4. work extra extra hard and voulenteer to take on other responsibilities that you dont already have.

  5. Be early to work like 10-15mins, take notes when learning or in training and refer to notes, you'll learn faster.  Don't assume, if your unsure ask questions when you need to, take initiative where you can, follow direction (I say this because most people think they do, but don't).  Work hard, be thorough, pay attention to detail, and take pride in your work.  Do a good job and that will impress your boss.
