I bought a bedspread less than a month ago, but I decided that it's just not me. I

1) Would a sheet look silly sewn on top of a bedspread?

2) Would ribbon stripes look silly sewn on top of a bedspread? I know it sounds funny, but I imagined sewing stripes of ribbon in colors that look good with my dull grey-aqua bedspread. (Lime green, bright plum)

3) What are other ideas for brightening up my bedspread?

  1. you def could do ribbon for sure.. not only stripe but you could do it almost in a plaid..something like this..

and use throw pillows that have bright fun colors and patterns and incorporate the grey-aqua to match it all up.

My cousin got this huuuuuge oversized sheet ( a duvet sheet is what it's called) to put on top her bedspread. She didnt sew it on..she just put it on..so when she needed to wash it..she just took it off and then put it back on. presto..very easy

  2. They sell bedspread covers at Ikea.

  3. i think ribbons would be nice. i too considered this for my own, until i foud a great one ON SALE!

but i bet ribbons of various sizes, shapes and colors would be cute too.

    what about rhinestones?

glad i could help. have a nice rest of the night!

  4. You could sew cloth ribbons down the sides of the bedspread so that they hang down and add some color. You could tie-dye, but that's not for everyone as far as taste goes.

  5. Get a duvet cover. They are a thin cover for that exact purpose and they are usually inexpensive.
