Question:

How can I improve my passé developpe?

I know basically how to execute, but are there any stretches/tips to add height to my developpe?

  1. I have the same problem, but I asked my dance teacher, and she said set yourself a target. first start 45 centimetres high or with an object around that hight, and developpe in all three directions, reaching the hight of your taget, and holding your leg there, to make sure you are using your stomach muscles keep your posture. after a week if you are comfortably reaching your target raise it.

    don't rest on the object. hold your leg just off of it for four counts.


  2. use something like kitchen counters or a table or something a bit higher than where you developpe is just now. put your leg on it and wait a few seconds (20 - 30) until your muscles get used to it being there

    hold your posture and tummy muscles and raise your foot off the surface its on for as long as you can, then rest it back. make sure you keep your posture the way you would have it at the barre or in the center.
