I'm running the 200m at my school's sports day. But I'm not very good. I don't want to let my form down. So does anyone have any tips on how I can improve my running technique?

  1. you should focus on the movement of your hands as well as the movement of your legs. if you do this you are going to have a great race. considering that 200m is a short run you should also stride as much as and as big as possible. well i hope that was a little help. best of lucks.

  2. most of the time the problem is the arms... you should figure out how it needs to look and feel with proper form and then practice it slowly. like do some easy jogs using proper arm swing and leg movement, you can even practice your arms sitting down. once you get used to the feel you can speed up.. and eventually it will come naturally.

my coach taught me that in the 200m you should drop your left shoulder on the curve and really lean and hug the line. also make sure that you are sprinting the whole way. try to catch the person in front of you.

remember that with your form practice you need to make sure that every part of your body is dedicated to forward momentum... any side movement slow you down

  3. First of all, PUMP THOSE ARMS!!!

Ive seen so many runners running with their arms flopping back and forth.....

This is bad technique! Don't be like them!

Also, since the 200m is considered a sprint, get your legs up to about your waist when you run, that could help a lot too.

Breath in from your nose, out from your mouth.

Don't let any bad thoughts cross your mind.

It doesn't matter if you win or lose.

If you lose, at least you lost with good form.

    Hope it helps!

    And stay safe!
