Question:

How can I improve my short-term memory?

It's gotten a little worse now. For example, I bought a bottle of water the other day and opened it and took a sip...and then looked at it five minutes later and swore I hadn't opened it. I didn't know how it had gotten opened in the first place, and was tempted to bring it back to the store. I have to write things down or else I'll forget them within moments. It's like something out of that movie Memento. What can I do to improve it and bring it back to where it used to be?

I'm only 22 by the way.

  1. Oh my God that sounds like me. The other day I lost my bank card so I swore I left it at the store. I went to the store and it was not there. Anyway I found it at home and then lost if 5 minutes later and have not seen it since.

I really think stuff like that is caused by stress. Maybe focus in on why you may be so stressed out? Live life one day at a time and enjoy if for the moment too.

If you need more help seek out the advice of a professional. If you want to just talk feel free to contact me.

    Good luck!

  2. The bottle water thing is more habit then anything else. I do this all the time you unscrew it when your not thinking. I unscrew it as soon as I get inside my car. Even if I don't drink it right away. I had short term memory problems and what I do and it helps is brain type games like trivia or crossword puzzles. Just challenge yourself to use your thinking skills more. Also take omega-3.
