Hi.

I want to make a semi-good role in my school's musical this year. I can act nicely, but my singing threw me from a decent role to the chorus.

My parents can't afford singing lessons though.

Please tell me some tips to improve my voice for the theater!!

P.S. I have plenty of time, the auditions aren't until January.

  1. Practice practice practice! And recored yourself singing. You'll know what you need to work on. You might even consider taking singing lessons. They will really help you!

  2. practice, practice, practice!

  3. Be sure to warm up before you begin practicing. You should also be breathing from your diaphragm, and not from your shoulders. If you are doing it correctly, your stomach should be expanding. That alone should add power to your notes and extend how long you can hold a given note. It's also very important to warm down when you are finished.
