How can I improve my vertical for volleyball?

  1. I do calf-raises and jump up and down touching my ceiling with out stopping for about 10 minutes a day.


  2. what I do to improve my vertical for volleyball is to jump and touch the ceiling with leg weights on because they strengthen the legs.

  3. There's different things you can do.  

    Wall Jumps:  pretend that the wall is the net and put your hands up as if you were blocking.   Take one step back with one foot, bring it back to where it was and jump up as if you were blocking.  Do alot of these.  Probably in sets of 15-20.

    Walking Lunges with 5 or 10lb weights in each hand.  Walk down a hall or down the gym doing these slowly.

    Calf raises on each foot and then together.

    Other than working your muscles, just keep practicing your approach with arm swing.  You'll get it.
