I need to improve my vision because I'm nearsighted. I don't want those nerdy crappy things on my face.

  1. eat carrots!

  2. Eating carrots only helps with vitamin A.  That will help your eyes adjust to dark and light faster, but that is all.

Basically, you need to exercise your eyes.  When my dad had to do that stuff, he had to hold a finger in front of one eye at a time.  He would focus on his finger, and then something in the background.  Then again on his finger.  It just strengthened his eyes.  Do it whenever you have a free minute.

  3. There really isn't anything you can do to improve nearsightedness.  Nearsightedness is caused by the eyeball being too long and/or the shape and strenghth of the cornea.  No foods, vitamins, or exercises will change that.  Exercises may help with eyestrain or with a binocular problem, but they won't help with visual acuity.

Nearsightedness usually gets worse through the teens and will stabilize in the late teens or early twenties.  Once it is stable, you can get laser surgery if you are a good candidate, and until then, why not try some contacts?
