I'm 5'7 weigh 185 lb. I bench 185 and squat 315. I run a 40 yard sprint in 5.75 seconds. My overall goal is to be a linebacker by my senior year, which is next year. As of right now, I'm a Defensive tackle and an offensive tackle. This is my first year to play and I've only been workin out for about 5 months. Anybody got any tips or something on how I can achieve my goal???

  1. well unless you get a lot bigger its gonna be extremely hard to play college ball, but in general for high school, watch game tapes, study the opponent, watch more experience players at your position play, watch their form and footwork. and hit the weight room, like now 185 is not a good size for a lineman thats a junior

  2. Practise football more time i mean most of the time

  3. Work on quickness.  Run 10 yard sprints to build more explosiveness.  40 time isn't everything; 20 time is more important for football speed.  You're going to get stronger if you stay with a good weightlifting program.

Don't worry too much about size; technique is more important.  I was about your size and was one of only two players on our HS team to play in all 40 quarters my senior year; the other was a guard who was also about the same size.

  4. Get off the computer and go play ball or run or lift weights but first get off the computer
