I would like to include my fiance's father into the wedding ceremony but I can't seem to think of anything...I would like it to be more than just a speech or a reading. Thanks!

  1. How about as best man or co-best man.

Or ask him to make the toast at the reception that the best man usually makes.

  2. You could make him an usher

  3. would your father be offended if him AND your fiance's dad walked you down the aisle? that would be kind of cool.

or if you have a flower girl (or girls) and nobody to walk with her-he could escort her down the aisle.

    just a few ideas

    congrats!!

  4. Pick a reading and ask him to do it. Tell him how important that reading is to have in your ceremony and say you would be honored if he were the one to present it. It gives him a purpose and he feels special! Just make sure he doesn't get stage fright...!

  5. I saw in a wedding were they were going to blending families(wife had 2 kids of her own, groom had 1 kid of her own)  that the wife gave something special to her husbands kids and the husband gave something to the wifes kids during the ceremony, alomst like they were bonding or coming together as a family during/through the marrige ceremony, how about if you do something like that for your father in law an dyour groom do the same to you mother, or something.    you be a necklace, or cufflinks, or a simple pendant with an insciption on it, but this takes place during the ceremony.. there will a a special time for you to do this...

  6. what about hubby making him bestman?

  7. well have the moms and dads light the unity candles as a couple. and then you and your hubby light the big one. thats a good way to do it.

  8. Well, what's your father doing? If you and your fiance aren't walking together down the aisle, then presumably your parents are walking with you. If you are walking each other down the aisle then your parents are all in the same boat...

If you want something more than being in the processional then there isn't a lot beyond readings that's available.
