Question:

How can I increase my chances of getting an interview and getting a job?

I'm submitting an application to a local tanning salon tomorrow. There wasn't enough room on the application for all of my education information, so I wrote the information that wouldn't fit on the application on another sheet of paper. I had planned on creating a resume and submitting it instead of an application, but my printer is broke, so on the sheet of paper that I wrote the additional education information on, I also wrote my objective and qualifications. I had a simple objective (to obtain a position as a receptionist at the tanning salon), but I listed a lot of qualifications. I don't want to seem full of myself, so should I submit the additional information?

Is there any way that I can increase my chances of getting an interview?

Also, is there any way that I can increase my chances of getting the job if I do get an interview? Can anyone (that has preferably worked at a tanning salon) tell me what type of questions they'll be asking me?

Thanks! :-)

  1. include the extra information on the sheet you wrote.

make sure you dress nicely and look nice when you enter tanning salon. be friendly, introduce yourself and give your app to a manager. if one is not available, go back til one is.

a couple days after you hand in your app, call or go in and let the management know that you are still very much interested in the position and ask if position is still available. do this again after a 3-4 days. it works!

If u get an interview smle, be confident and friendly. let them know you are a good worker, reliable, and responsible. i've never worked at a tannery so i dont really know specific questions they would ask you. but mostly, they are trying to feel you out to see if you are suited for their place of business and if u can do the job.
