  1. Velocity is natural.  It's hard to explain why Pedro Martinez in his prime could get it up there at 98mph, only he weighed 115 lbs.  Meanwhile there are guys 6'8 260 lbs. that can't get the gun to read 60mph.  I believe it is God given.  You can work all you want and maybe increase you speed a few mph, but If you weren't born with a natural ability to throw hard then it might not happen.

  2. LONG TOSS. It's the only way, unless your mechanics are awful. And people think working out, and being big makes you throw harder, it doesn't. Look at Tim Lincecum, 5"10" 175 pounds. He's been gunned at 98MPH. It's all about leg strength and how fast you can whip your arm.

  3. Long toss will really help a lot. Focus on really getting extension with your arm and getting your lower body involved in your motion. Concentrate on your mechanics. Also do some running -- like foul pole to foul pole 5X a few times a week along with some sprints -- to help with your strength. The more you can get your legs and lower body involved in your mechanics the less stress you will put on your arm.

  4. first u should lift weights to get it stronger. mostly ur leg muscles cuz pitching all comes from ur legs. u dont got strong legs ur not gonna pitch very fast. 2nd u gotta raise ur leg in the wind up more. raise ur leg as high as u can get it. practice a few times at ur house so u can get used to it. so when ur pitching raise ur leg as high as u can get it to go and then just throw the ball snapping ur body forward. good luck!

  5. Work on your basic mechanics and overall conditioning/strength.  Good/Improved mechanics will add a couple of mph to the fastball.

  6. throw faster

  7. master your mechanics and strenghten your leg. your legs are the most important thing in your delivery.

also, playing long toss helps a lot with arm strength.

go out and practice a lot of pitching and you will see velocity and command come.

    good luck!

  8. maybe hit the weight room

  9. u may not believe this but..

i play quarterback in high school and throwing the football every day helped me gain velocity. in eighth grade i threw 72 but with football and everything and of course working on my mechanics and WORKING OUT MY LEGS i hit 83 at beast of the east the other weekend

so i would say in the off season throw a football to build arm strength and workout your legs and mechanics

  10. the best way to increase velocity is to play long toss, start at 60 feet then move to 90 feet , then to 120 feet make 30 throws at each distance . also due some arm and leg exercise to increase strength..  best of luck.

  11. Well, right now you throw your normal throw but after warming up gthrow harder and harder but make sure you take liitle by little so you injure your arm, and try differnt stances and stuff that halp you get more power into your throw.
